Hello Friends and welcome to eclipse season! This month, July 2018, is a hot one and will determine 

the course of the next phase of our lives. The way we consciously work with this energy will have personal and political implications.

There are three eclipses, two solar eclipses which are partial and a lunar eclipse which is a full eclipse. A solar eclipse is during the new moon phase (sun and moon are together), when the moon passes between the sun and earth. A lunar eclipse is during the full moon (sun and moon are opposite)- the earth passes between the moon and the sun.

The dates and astrological locations of the eclipses:

July 13^th, Solar eclipse at 20 degrees Cancer

July 27^th, Lunar eclipse at 4 degrees Aquarius

Aug 11^th, Solar eclipse 18 degrees Leo

The eclipses work together and shake us up in different ways, attempting to remove the debris that is holding us back or clouding our vision.

Solar Eclipse- The first eclipse, July 13^th, occurs directly opposite Pluto. This suggests a waking up to the underlying parts of ourselves we don’t want to see. It is part of a transformative process, where Pluto lends his psychological depth to see more deeply our emotional motivations; we understand our lives more psychologically instead of believing the reasons we typically tell ourselves for our actions. Often, we’re focused on the external lives we live, and for a moment this isn’t the case, we see the under belly of our lives – parts which rarely see the light of day. Another aspect of this is the desire to change or transform what we see and the new moon is an excellent opportunity to set new intentions and plant seeds for future success. Unexpected relationships could arise or take more concrete form. These are important to the changing future, as the transformation you’re going through will be highly dependent upon those who are in your life.

From a cultural perspective this is a seeing the “cost of success”. What is our true history? What parts of our history is often not acknowledged? More atrocities have been committed in the name of good and right and god and freedom on this soil then we care to recognize. The collective mythos, the story we celebrate as a culture will be challenged and the true pain and suffering that has been hiding in the shadows of these stories will come to our consciousness or at least to the tip of our unconscious where we begin to sense it. The native stories of separation and murder the atrocities of slavery and segregation and the continued dehumanization of people of color will stand in stark contrast to the story of freedom we celebrate. These inconsistencies will suddenly have an opportunity to be seen, heard and sensed.

There is an energy cleansing that is happening at this time. You may feel sluggish or achy. The energy of these collective wounds is rising to the surface. Pluto process always involves a removal or purging of the energy that holds us back. Take an Epson salt bath, go to the ocean, meditate, use clarity oils or candles. Green tea, Rosemary and Mint are recommended as is alpha wave music. This is the initial recognition of this history (at the collective consciousness level) and it will likely take a big event to bring it to consciousness.

Lunar Eclipse- As we move to July 27^th, this will be the strongest of the three in my opinion. Not only is it a full eclipse but it is a full moon as well.  This also occurs on top of the current Mars retrograde (http://yourstarswithin.blogspot.com/2018/06/mars-retrograde-and-your-life-purpose.html) which is opposing the Sun while in conjunction with the Moon. This speaks of past actions, of which, today we are all completely an extension of. To a greater degree than we would all like to admit, the world we live in and the mental/spiritual understanding of this world is completely based on what we have inherited from our ancestors. Systems of oppression as well as history of fighting for liberation are both ends of this spectrum. We are suddenly infused with the energy of our ancestral history – particularly the maternal history and history of women’s rights.  

This is a moment in time for the young to lead and the old to assist the visions of the youth. Can the wise women and older members of our political systems become the arms to assist the young who will take the lead and choose the direction? Can we transcend our history? This speaks to me particularly of the democratic party that would do well to heed this calling and turn towards their youth as leaders; willingness to assist with the pragmatic details but not the vision and direction. While it will be very difficult to bring this to manifestation, the sudden and surprising energy that is available for manifestation may open previously unforeseen opportunities and give us all a chance to heal from historical wounds. Can those who have been most oppressed be given the reins, with support of those with the technical know-how – this would be the unbeatable combination.

On a personal level, unsettled emotions especially ones from early childhood and with the mother will arise and with high irritability and intensity. You may have difficulty identifying the core of the emotions you are feeling as they may go back to past generations. Trans-generational trauma – the wounds we carry in our cells begin to be activated. It is only through the release of these energies that we can lift ourselves to a higher energetic vibration.

Women in particular may feel confusion or fogginess. This serves an important function of aligning you where you need to be and with whom you need to connect- for spiritual purposes.  Go with the flow as much as possible and allow it to carry you. Do not live from fear and worry as this causes you to step off the path. At the end of this process is an assist in transforming the energy. If you have allowed yourself to be guided to where you need to be, transformation will arise more easily than expected. Many women will be waking up to deeper levels of the effects of cultural inferiority and patriarchal control. This may take a lot longer to be fully understood on the mental level, as Mercury begins its retrograde motion just before this eclipse (https://yourstarswithin.blogspot.com/2018/07/mercury-retrograde-july-2018-power-of.html). Yet, allowing life to transport you to a new level of awareness may come with some ease if we can let go of our cognitive will and align with life. 

Solar Eclipse- Finally, as we get to the final solar eclipse of August 11^th there is a big female liberation awaiting. Lilith, whose mythology precedes Eve, conjuncts the Mars retro. The women of history who have fought for equality and against the all too common sexual abuses are remembered. In fact, the sexual abuses of women may come to clearer light so that people can see how common and horrid this reality is. It is possible news stories will reflect for the collective the need to be more conscious of such realities.  Lilith’s energy has often been demonized because her power is so feared. She is a woman standing in her own [equal] power. Unlike Eve, who was made by Adam for entertainment and submission, Lilith is the true energy of feminine power. There is the opportunity for a big "Ah Ha" moment as Mercury retrograde conjuncts the eclipse and squares Jupiter in Scorpio. For those who rode the wave of awakening during the lunar eclipse, now find themselves with an opportunity at this new moon to plant the seeds of true freedom of their feminine power.

For men, often the feminine power has been stripped from them at such young ages they don’t remember what it feels like. Reclaiming their right to feel, to be gentle, to sense intuitively and relate compassionately and collaboratively gives their heart and soul a freedom in life they didn’t know they could have. There is restriction in both, being a woman and a man in a patriarchal society. There are great inner powers lost when men block their feminine power, this results in reduced energy level and substantially less competence in the art of life. Those who are most powerful have a balance of both energies, so the men most harmed by this requirement of feminine denial are the ones who would be the greatest of warriors; it is the feminine instincts that add depth to the masculine strength. This is an opportunity to begin to take this powerful energy back into your consciousness.

The energy at this time is more celebratory than the previous two eclipses and the opportunity for the unexpected to take root and manifest is strong. Political opponents could strengthen or weaken unexpectedly, or those who are most popular may surprise us. On a more personal level, young people and those still young at heart are getting a taste of true freedom and equality. They are beginning the future. Social rigidity and sexual restrictions are a thing of the past as a new wave of bohemian love and self-exploration begins. Young women are waking up to their true power and young men are relating to them in different ways than in the past. Only in equality can true love exist.

This is only a beginning and a glimpse, but if you get any piece of it then you are a part of changing this piece of the world. You are an important part of this dichotomy shift. So, if suddenly you find yourself acting more sexually assertive/communicative or you don’t stay quiet/complacent in your work meeting or you trust the unexplained feelings you have– then welcome to the party, cause its only just begun!
