Uranus leaps into the sign of Taurus with quite a crackle!

Uranus changes signs approximately every 7 years, so this movement into Taurus on 5/15/2018 is a big deal! Uranus is the planet of the unexpected – you can have genius insights or unexpected frustrations. Uranus is a planet of freedom and it wants to show you that you don’t have to live in the expected way society has taught you. It wants to free you from preconceived notions and unconscious beliefs that you have unknowingly accepted and restricted on yourself.

With Uranus entering Taurus I would expect the unexpected in love and material values. What you hold dear or what you think is valuable may go through an unexpected change. Also, the way you allocate resources and therefore act on your values. Your sense of self value may undergo changes that ultimately result in a stronger sense of your own worth. However, often before we get the insight, we experience the drought. Something unexpected could occur, such as a change in job or salary. If you’ve placed too much self-worth on the material end of life, you may go through a process of reclaiming your worth from such external factors. The way you make money could change, bringing you closer to aligning your spiritual journey with your earthly livelihood.

Taurus is also a fixed sign, so these changes will likely be fought against. Try to be flexible. Invest deeply in TRUST, between yourself and the Universe- All of life is supporting these efforts. What looks like unexpected catastrophe could ultimately be what awakens your highest life path. Life is a complex pattern, like a mandala. You are inextricably a part of this pattern! You are NEVER forgotten about and all things occurring is for your best life path. The more you invest in trust and CO-CREATE with life, instead of fighting it or worrying about it, the easier your path can shift into more joy and peace. Often we come from a place of fear, acting as if the world “out there” is out to get us and we need to protect ourselves. There is no such thing as the world “out there”. You simply cannot be separated from the whole of life.  So breathe and remind yourself to trust life the way you trust the earth beneath your feet.

Along with this Uranus shift, is also a New Moon at 24 degrees of Taurus. Since this is the same sign, its energies are connected with one another. New moons are a time for new beginnings- to plant seeds. Begin by setting intentions, feel through your inner barriers to those very intentions and allow the radical freedom of Uranus to remove those barriers. This is a powerful time to set a new course.

Both Mercury and Mars make aspects to Uranus at this time. Mars is also at the end of its journey through Capricorn and makes a square aspect to Uranus while Mercury is conjunct Uranus. What does this mean? Well Mercury and Uranus speak of mental breakthroughs, flashes of genius and insight. Freeing one’s mind from past mental assumptions. This is a great time to look at your underlying beliefs and thought patterns. Where have you believed you were not worthy? Where have you been misconceived about your essential value? Mars square Uranus in the critical degree (29 degrees), speaks to me of mis-valuing material goods and power. Uranus may create the opportunity to take our power back from the material goods and from large corporations that have dis-empowered our worth. If you have a small business, or a hobby you’ve been thinking about starting a business- get the plans going! Maybe it’s time to buy your food from closer to home, investing in local farmers and organic produce.

Mars can add some irritable and aggressive energy to Mercury, so make sure to get some exercise and burn off that excess energy so that it’s at a size you can manage and put to use. Don’t allow the energy to overwhelm you- this could lead to extreme frustration and rage, blowing up at others when things go unexpectedly and maybe even damaging relationships for a long time into the future. There is opportunity here. Support women run businesses as well, with the asteroid Lilith conjunction with Pluto in Capricorn, this is a great time to see the rising power of women in business.
